Great Britain have confirmed their team for the Women’s World Championship Division I Group B in Puigcerdà, Spain in April.
GB will face Kazakhstan, Korea, Latvia, Netherlands and hosts Spain at the Polisportiu Arena from 12th to 18th April.
Twenty-one of the players have World Championship experience and there’s a first GB call-up for 19-year-old forward Margot Sire, while 17-year-old netminder Evelyn Brown is named in the senior squad for the first time.
Evelyn Brown
Brown made 13 appearances for GB Under-18s and was a standout performer in the U18 Women’s World Championship Division I Group B in Katowice, Poland in January. The 17-year-old was named Netminder of the Tournament which included a 41-shot shutout against Spain. Brown currently plays in the USA at the North American Hockey Academy.
Margot Sire
Sire is in her fourth season with women’s top-flight team Guildford Lightning. The 19-year-old is also Assistant Captain for the Fire Bees in WNIHL 1. Sire spent the 2024-25 season in North America and played for Newark Ironbound alongside GB team-mate Ellin Rees.

“We have a large chunk of returning players that bring a ton of experience at the World Championship level, along with some new faces that will make an impact right away within the team.
“The blend of veteran leadership and fresh energy gives us tremendous confidence as we prepare to compete on the world stage.
“This group understands what it takes to succeed at this level and we’re excited to see them come together and represent Great Britain with pride.”
