Insider Hints Browns Could Make Big Draft Moves

As the NFL Draft draws closer, Cleveland Browns fans are increasingly focused on what direction the team will take and which positions will be prioritized.

The general consensus among analysts is that Cleveland will use its No. 6 and No. 24 overall picks to address wide receiver and offensive tackle. Those two spots are widely viewed as the team’s most pressing needs heading into the offseason.

While writing for The Land On Demand, Tony Grossi was asked whether there was any realistic chance the Browns would deviate from that prevailing wisdom of drafting WR/OT or OT/WR.

Grossi suggested fans should not expect a dramatic shift in positional focus. However, he did leave the door open for significant movement within the first round. Cleveland could explore trading up or down depending on how the board falls, potentially reshaping its draft capital without abandoning its core priorities.

In short, while the Browns may be aggressive in maneuvering around the board, wide receiver and offensive tackle still appear to be firmly at the center of their draft strategy.

“I would think other possibility would be to trade down from No. 6 and trade up from No. 24. But receiver/tackle still would be in play,” Grossi wrote.

With several players headed toward free agency and lingering uncertainty at quarterback, the Browns would be wise to stay committed to their plan of targeting a wide receiver and an offensive tackle, regardless of whether they move up or down in the draft order.

New head coach Todd Monken recently acknowledged that the offense will receive significant attention this offseason, which only reinforces that approach.

General manager Andrew Berry has drafted well in recent years, and this class presents another opportunity to plug major holes with cost-controlled rookies.

Free agency could significantly reshape the offensive line. David Njoku is already moving on, and additional departures are possible, including Wyatt Teller and Joel Bitonio.
