India got off to a flying start with new openers Ishan Kishan and Sanju Samson. Samson smashed 22 off just 8 balls before falling in the second over.

Kishan was unstoppable. He blasted 61 off 24 balls and hit four sixes in a row off JJ Smit. India raced to 86 for 1 in the PowerPlay and brought up their fastest team hundred in just seven overs.

However, Namibia fought back in the middle overs. From 104 for 1, India slipped to 124 for 4 as Gerhard Erasmus and Bernard Scholtz struck at the right time.

That is when Hardik Pandya took charge. He smashed 52 off 28 balls and added 81 runs for the fifth wicket with Shivam Dube, who made a steady 23.

India looked set for an even bigger total, but they lost five wickets for just 10 runs in the last two overs. Erasmus finished with 4 for 20 as Namibia ended the innings strongly. India posted 209 for 9.

Namibia began their chase well and reached 67 for 1. For a moment, the game looked competitive at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

Then the Indian spinners took over. Varun Chakaravarthy and Axar Patel ripped through the middle order. Namibia crashed from 67 for 1 to 94 for 6 in just 32 balls.

Chakaravarthy was brilliant, picking up 3 for 7. Axar supported him with 2 for 20 as the chase completely fell apart.

Hardik also shone with the ball, taking 2 for 21. He even grabbed two wickets in two balls at the death to seal the game.

All six Indian bowlers picked up at least one wicket as Namibia were bowled out for 116. The 93-run win underlined India’s strong form in the tournament.

With explosive batting at the top and tight spin in the middle, India sent a clear message to the rest of Group A.
