WWE Women’s Tag Team Title Match Ends In Controversial Chaos During 2/13 SmackDown

The WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship was on the line this week. Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY took on Nia Jax & Lash Legend in a hard-hitting tag team contest.

This match kicked off the show this week. Nia Jax and Lash Legend wore Valentine’s Day inspired gear. The champions also rocked some red flair for the holiday that lands tomorrow.

This match stretched through a commercial break. There were a few close near falls. Rhea Ripley nailed a powerbomb on Nia Jax and IYO hit an Over The Moonsault, but Lash Legend broke up the pin. This match kept going as fans chanted “This is Awesome!” Eventually, this match was called off via DQ.

Eventually, Lash and Nia got a table out and then they placed Rhea Ripley on it. Nia Jax went to climb up on the turnbuckle to splash her, but then the babyfaces fought back. Suddenly, IYO Sky nailed an insane dive on Nia Jax that sent her through a table. At the same time, Rhea Ripley took Lash Legend out by sending her through the barricade.

Fans were chanting “holy sh*t” and “ref you suck” at the same time. Nobody wanted to see the match end like this.

This opening contest literally destroyed the ringside area. It was a violent match with a ton of aftermath, but the Women’s Tag Team Titles didn’t change hands.
