ESPN secures exclusive ONE Championship broadcast rights in two key countries

ESPN and ONE Championship announced a multi-year exclusive broadcast agreement, bringing the organization to audiences across Australia and New Zealand. The deal positions ESPN as the sole broadcaster for ONE events in the region, excluding select pay-per-view offerings.

The agreement launches with ONE Fight Night 40 on Saturday, February 14, at 1:00 PM AEDT from Bangkok’s Lumpinee Stadium. ESPN will broadcast all ONE content live across its distribution network spanning Disney+, Foxtel, Kayo Sports, Fetch TV, and Sky NZ. Coverage includes flagship numbered events, monthly ONE Fight Night shows, and the weekly ONE Friday Fights series.

ONE Championship showcases elite competition across multiple martial arts disciplines. The organization features MMA, Muay Thai, submission grappling, and kickboxing with athletes representing more than 80 countries. The diverse combat sports programming offers Australian and New Zealand audiences access to world-class martial arts action across various fighting styles.

The inaugural broadcast features a championship doubleheader. ONE Women’s Strawweight Kickboxing World Champion Jackie Buntan defends her title against ONE Women’s Strawweight Muay Thai World Champion Stella Hemetsberger in a highly anticipated rematch. The co-main event showcases Shadow Singha Mawynn versus Nico Carrillo for the ONE Interim Featherweight Muay Thai World Title.

ESPN broadcast delivers stacked ONE Fight Night 40 card

ONE Fight Night 40 delivers depth beyond the championship bouts on ESPN’s debut broadcast. Japanese grappling ace Shozo Isojima faces 19-year-old phenom Adrian Lee in a lightweight MMA clash that promises fireworks.

The submission grappling ranks receive spotlight treatment with IBJJF World Champions competing. Fabricio Andrey battles Joao Mendes in a matchup showcasing the highest level of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu technique. Additional striking talent rounds out the card with flyweight Muay Thai action between Black Panther and Diego Paez delivering aggressive exchanges.

Australian and New Zealand fight fans gain comprehensive access to ONE Championship’s roster through this partnership. The multi-year agreement ensures consistent programming across ESPN’s platforms. Coverage begins this Saturday with the high-stakes championship rematch headlining an action-packed evening of martial arts competition from Thailand’s most historic venue.
