One thing was certain for AEW Grand Slam Australia (Feb. 14, 2026). A person’s head would be shaved bald. The question was who. Toni Storm and Orange Cassidy wrestled Marina Shafir and Wheeler Yuta in a hair versus hair match. For those worried that Timeless could lose her locks, don’t worry. It was a Death Rider that received the haircut.
The contest was tornado mixed tag team rules. The person that lost the match would have to suffer the extra embarrassment of losing their hair.
Storm and Cassidy took the fight to their opponents by attacking during the Death Riders entrance. They brawled through the crowd, and AEW put up the split-screen to catch all the action. The tactic from Storm and Cassidy backfired. Shafir sat on Storm’s head and drank a beverage, while Yuta choked Cassidy with a shirt. Yuta got the upper hand to piledrive Storm on equipment cases.
Storm was in serious pain. Luther carried her to the back. Cassidy was left to fend for himself. The match eventually made it to the ring, and the Death Riders double-teamed OC. Storm conveniently returned after the commercial break to unleash dancing offense with her Citrus Boy.
Cassidy ducked a high kick from Shafir to counter for Beach Break. Commentary accused Yuta of contemplating the idea of sacrificing Shafir to take that loss in order to save his own hair. Yuta backed up his partner, and the match continued.
There was serious drama when Yuta blindsided Storm with the Busaiku knee. That sequence was good enough to believe as the potential finish. Cassidy saved Storm on the pin by pulling Yuta away.
Cassidy anticipated Yuta going back to that well, so he dodged the strike. Yuta accidentally clobbered Shafir with the Busaiku knee. It was Toni time for a German suplex and running hip attack to Yuta. She fed that scoundrel to Cassidy for a superman punch. Storm finished the job with a piledriver to pin Yuta.
Yuta tried to bail on the bet. He lied by claiming that he wasn’t actually going to cut their hair. Jon Moxley arrived to get Yuta to honor his word.
Mina Shirakawa was given the honors of first cut. She chopped a chunk of Yuta’s hair. Storm did the same to much delight. Cassidy used the razor to buzz the top of Yuta’s head. I’m hoping Yuta keeps the sides long.
