Cain Velasquez Set For Parole Release

Former UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez is set to be released on parole today, February 15, 2026. Velasquez shared the news over the weekend via his Instagram account, where he also outlined plans for his first public project following his incarceration.

Velasquez expressed interest in hosting a one-day holotropic breathing seminar in the San Jose, California area. The in-person event would focus on mental and emotional resets, stress release, and clarity through guided breathwork.

“After my release on February 15th, I’m exploring the idea of hosting a one-day Holotropic Breathing Seminar in the San Jose area. Breathwork has been a powerful tool for me—physically, mentally, and spiritually—and I’d like to share it with others in a focused, intentional setting,” Velasquez wrote.

Seminar Details and Fan Interaction

The proposed seminar is intended to be a paid, limited-capacity experience. In addition to the guided breathing sessions, Velasquez plans to include a personal meet and greet, a Q&A session, a group photo, and shared conversation with participants. He is currently using social media to gauge interest before finalizing more details.

Legal Background

Velasquez’s release comes after he pleaded no contest in August 2024 to charges including attempted murder, felony assault with a firearm, and shooting at a motor vehicle. These charges were the result of a February 2022 incident in Santa Clara County. Velasquez was arrested after a high-speed chase in which he fired a handgun at a vehicle carrying Harry Goularte, a man accused of sexually abusing Velasquez’s young son.

During the incident, Goularte’s stepfather was struck in the arm and torso, sustaining non-life-threatening injuries. Velasquez was sentenced to five years in prison; however, he received credit for time already served in custody and under house arrest. This credit made him eligible for parole in early 2026.
