The Bike-Eye concept is up for sale, after the owner’s retirement. Bike-Eye is an out of harm’s way rear view mirror for bicycles, that fits discreetly to the head and down tube of the frame. Appealing to those who do not want to use conventional handlebar mirrors, the Bike-Eye offers a different rear-view perspective, under the rider’s leg. This means it does not add any width to the bike’s bars, nor is it unsightly.
The original concept was designed by Tony McGuinness, a triathlete who often rode using tri-bars and realised it was difficult to turn and safely view what was behind him. Thus, the Bike-Eye was born.
Since its inception, a larger mirror size has been designed and produced not only for triathletes, but for road riders and commuters.
The Bike-Eye concept is now for sale, and comes with the Intellectual Property (IP) rights, the brand’s own tooling with their Taiwanese manufacturer, and a range of domain names and registered Bike-Eye trademarks.
In the UK, Bike-Eye has been sold by several UK distributors as well as independent shops. It has also been sold within the USA and Australia by local distributors.
Now, the owner has decided to retire and would like to sell the concept, which would ideally be added to a portfolio of similar bicycle accessories. Stock is now at a minimum, and an upgraded frame fitment design has been prototyped for the product to fit a larger range of bicycle frames, further adding to the scope of Bike-Eye.
