The Toyota Cheetahs are proud to welcome THIRSTI Natural Spring Water as the team’s official hydration, spring water, and sports drink partner.
THIRSTI continues to make waves in South African sport. Already trusted for hydration in the rugby scene as the partner of the Vodacom Bulls, as well as the Comrades Marathon and Cricket South Africa, the Proteas, among other leading teams and events, THIRSTI now joins forces with the Toyota Cheetahs in an exciting new partnership.
Through this partnership, THIRSTI will ensure optimal hydration for both senior and junior Toyota Cheetah players. In addition, THIRSTI’s range of spring water, flavoured water and sports drinks will be available at concessions and throughout hospitality areas at Toyota Stadium, enhancing the matchday experience for supporters.
Announcing the partnership, Free State Cheetahs CEO Rory Duncan said: “It is an absolute honour to welcome THIRSTI to the Cheetah family, particularly as a proudly South African brand. THIRSTI Natural Spring Water is a premium product with the ideal mineral composition and pH balance to keep our teams well hydrated on and off the field. The brand’s fresh approach and strong values align perfectly with those of the Toyota Cheetahs.”
THIRSTI Head of Marketing, Michelle Lillico, added: “The Cheetahs embody the grit, resilience and pride of the Free State. THIRSTI is proud to partner with a team so deeply rooted in its community, hydrating the players and the loyal supporters who stand behind them.”
As part of the launch, THIRSTI has introduced a bold and meaningful initiative. Custom cheetah-print Budgy Smugglers have been created for the players to wear on match days, drawing attention to an important cause. For the first 50 tries scored by the Toyota Cheetahs, THIRSTI will donate R1 000 towards testicular cancer, with the help of Sport for Lives. The Toyota Cheetahs admire and fully support the initiative and encourage supporters to join in making a difference.
“THIRSTI is proud to partner with the Cheetahs and CANSA in driving awareness for testicular cancer. We’re hoping the Cheetahs’ energy and humour will get more men talking about their health. Over and above our Cheetahs sponsorship, we are also supporting CANSA with R1,000 for every try the Cheetahs score this season. Thank you to the Cheetahs for being open to having some fun in raising awareness for CANSA!” Said Michelle.
Bottled at source in the Klein Drakensberg Mountains, THIRSTI has grown rapidly into one of South Africa’s leading bottled water brands. Its strong presence in elite sport reflects a commitment to premium quality hydration, an essential ingredient for peak performance.
This partnership marks the beginning of a dynamic collaboration focused on performance, purpose and proudly South African excellence, both on and off the field.
