MSV Cyber Wet Overgrip Review: Ultra-Tacky, Comfortable and Seriously Underrated

MSV might not be the flashiest name in tennis gear, but once you try their strings or grips, good luck getting them out of your rotation. Their Cyber Wet Overgrip is a perfect example. It’s ultra-tacky, soft grip that gives you serious hold without skimping on comfort or how long it lasts, and after putting it through a few sweaty sessions, I totally get why people get hooked.

If you’ve ever gone back and forth between Wilson Pro and Yonex Super Grap, Cyber Wet slots right into that mix but with its own cushier, grippier vibe that just feels right in the hand.

We found it available here at Tennis Warehouse Europe and at Tennis Only (AU)

First impressions and feel

Straight out of the packet, Cyber Wet felt noticeably thicker and plusher in my hand than most overgrips I’ve tried and at 0.60 mm, it’s clearly not chasing that ultra-thin, minimalist feel. I loved its comfort and that instant locked-in security the moment I wrapped it on.

The tack was seriously impressive right away, but never sticky or greasy, my hand just sank in and gripped without a hint of slip. I really noticed that connected feel on my serves and big forehands during testing, where the racket stayed planted no matter how hard I went at it.

Even with all that grip, the surface stayed smooth rather than rubbery, so my grip changes mid-point felt quick and natural instead of grabby or awkward.

Absorbency & Sweat Performance

For a “wet” style grip, the absorbency genuinely impressed me:

  • Handles moderate to heavy sweating well
  • Doesn’t become slippery when damp
  • Maintains grip consistency as sessions go on

It’s not that bone-dry, chalky feel you get from Tourna Grip but Cyber Wet balances tackiness with moisture control, which made it perfect for me when I’m sweating but still gave me that cushioned, comfortable hand feel rather than a paper-thin dry surface.

Durability & Playability Life

One of Cyber Wet’s biggest strengths during my testing was how well it held up:

  • Wears gradually, not suddenly
  • Tack fades slowly rather than disappearing mid-session
  • Doesn’t tear or shred easily at the edges

Compared to thinner overgrips like Wilson Pro, Cyber Wet lasted noticeably longer for me. I got multiple solid sessions out of one wrap. For club players who hate re-gripping every other hit, that’s a massive win.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Very tacky surface provides excellent grip security, even during long sessions
  • Comfortable, slightly cushioned feel reduces hand and wrist fatigue
  • Strong absorbency for a “wet” style overgrip
  • Tack wears gradually rather than disappearing suddenly
  • More durable than many thin, ultra-tacky overgrips
  • Excellent value compared to big-brand alternatives

Cons

  • Thicker feel (0.60 mm) may not suit players who prefer maximum feedback
  • Not as dry or chalky as Tourna-style grips in extreme heat
  • Adds a bit of bulk to handle size, which minimalists may dislike

Comparable Overgrips

If you are considering MSV Cyber Wet, here are some useful comparisons:

  • Wilson Pro Overgrip – similar tack, but thinner and less durable than Cyber Wet
  • Yonex Super Grap – slightly firmer and less cushioned; Cyber Wet feels more plush
  • Babolat VS Original – thinner and more direct, but wears much faster
  • Tourna Mega Tac – comparable tack level, but Cyber Wet feels smoother and more controlled

In summary

MSV Cyber Wet Overgrip is one of those hidden gems that’s way better than its price tag suggests. It nails that mix of strong tack, real comfort and durability that just keeps going.  I has a feeling solid from the first wrap right through to when you finally peel it off.

If you love the grip security of Wilson Pro but wish it had more cushion and lasted longer, or if Super Grap feels a bit too firm in your hand, give Cyber Wet a shot. Once you try it, you may find yourself quietly wondering why you didn’t switch sooner.
