Boston police arrested a 36-year-old man in the city’s Fenway neighborhood on Friday on charges including child rape and sex trafficking a minor, according to the police department.
Boston resident Talik Rashaun Garcia is facing charges of rape and abuse of a child —aggravated by a 10-year age difference, trafficking a minor for sexual servitude, posing or exhibiting a child in a state of nudity or sexual conduct, dissemination of child sexual abuse material and knowingly purchasing or possessing child sexual abuse material, Boston police said in a press release.
On Friday, members of the Boston Police Human Trafficking Unit and the Crimes Against Children Unit, as well as the Massachusetts State Police High-Risk Victims Squad, carried out a search warrant at an apartment on Peterborough Street in Boston as part of an ongoing investigation, police said. Garcia was arrested based on evidence obtained during the search.
Garcia is set to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court in Roxbury on Tuesday, police said.
