Unusually for a Switch 2 racer, Gear.Club Unlimited 3 features a roster of real-world licensed cars from US, European, Asian and Middle Eastern manufacturers.
Gear.Club Unlimited 3 finally fills the void of Nintendo Switch 2 racing games with real-world cars.
A timed exclusive for Nintendo’s console, the standard version features 39 cars from a range of US, European, Asian and Middle Eastern manufacturers, with a modified Mazda RX-7 starring as the cover car.
A story mode sees you use credits earned from races to buy cars from dealerships in the French Riviera and Japan, with you switching between locations throughout the campaign. Each dealership has different cars for sale, but you can only visit one dealership in each story chapter, depending on the location.
Every car has a performance class ranging from C to S, and it can be upgraded at workshops in your customisable garage. Story events are restricted to a certain class.
At the start of the story campaign, you’re given a budget to buy a starter car, with entry-level models such as the Subaru BRZ and Dodge Challenger R/T.
Progression in Gear.Club Unlimited 3 is decidedly old-school, with faster cars gradually unlocking as the story progresses. Outside of the story, every car is unlocked in free play if you want to access them sooner.
With Japan featuring as a location alongside the French Riviera, several Japanese manufacturers make their Gear.Club Unlimited debut, including Honda, Mazda and Subaru. However, manufacturers seen in previous entries, such as Chevrolet, Jaguar and Mini, have been removed from the roster.
An additional three vehicles are exclusive to the Performance Car Pack DLC, which is included in the digital Deluxe Edition: the Bugatti Mistral, Nissan 370Z Nismo and Nissan GTR R-35 Nismo.
Those who pre-order either the Standard or Deluxe Edition will receive two model variants: the BMW Z4 GCU3 Edition and Honda S2000 GCU3 Edition.
