Della Maddalena is clearly an exceptionally talented fighter and we can all see that, but he needs to improve his wrestling game in a significant way if he wants to earn the gold once again – especially when you consider the wrestling prowess of many that currently reside in or around the title picture.
In a recent interview, Della Maddalena made it clear that he would one day like to share the Octagon with Makhachev again.
Della Maddalena discusses Makhachev rematch
“My goal is obviously to go back and get the world title back and also to challenge myself against these guys, all those new contenders, really find out who the best is,” he said. “I believe I can reign supreme and I’d love to get the shot at Islam again, that’d be the dream.”
“Hopefully I can get to the point where he grants me the rematch.”
