N. Lyles 20.56 PB at Tyson Invitational!
FAYETTEVILLE (USA, Feb 14): In his second appearance of the season, Noah Lyles improved his 200m short-track lifetime best to 20.56 when winning at the Tyson Invitational (WIT Silver) over Cheickna Traore of Ivory Coast (20.63). It was first Lyles’ indoor 200m since 2021. Fast women’s 300m heats by Jamaica’s Stacey Ann Williams in 35.92 PB ahead of Rhasidat Adeleke of Ireland (36.30 NR) and Great Britain’s Nicole Yeargin (36.79 PBi), while Alexis Holmes won another race in 36.46 PB. Gambia’s Sanu Jallow achieved in the 800m 1:59.76 NRi from Shafiqua Maloney of St.Vincent (1:59.82). Anna Willis improved to 460 in the pole vault, Marleen Mülla set a new Estonian record (460), finishing second. Cuba’s Davisleydi Velazco topped the triple jump with 14.50 ahead of Agur Dwol (14.28 PB) and Jasmine Moore (14.21). Other notable wins for NCAA Indoor champion India Mayberry in the 200m (22.96), Russell Robinson in the triple jump (16.95), and Jamaica’s Tyrice Taylor in the 800m (1:46.11 NRi). Arkansas (Prince, Batista, Jallow/GAM 50.19 split, Butler) set an early world lead of 3:25.82 in the 4x400m, Florida won the men’s relay in 3:02.15 (McCoy/BAH, Braun, Spikes, Mims) ahead of Tennessee (3:02.46). In the University division fast 200n heats by Jelani Watkins (20.43 PBi), Tevijon Williams (20.56 PB) and Davonte Howell of Cayman Islands (20.58 PB). Nigeria’s Ester Joseph improved to 22.94 in the 200m, and Tarik O’Hagan was the best in the shot put (21.12).
