With the UFC White House card confirmed, Conor McGregor now claims that he has been offered an opponent and a date for his return to the octagon.
The Irishman is in contention for a spot on the UFC White House Card, as per Dana White. This past weekend, White also confirmed that the matchmaking for June 14 is done, and they have two options to choose from.
McGregor, meanwhile, has been dialed in ever since the UFC White House event was announced. He’s back in the testing pool, has vowed to live in the gym, and is doing all it takes to make a successful return to the octagon.
Recently, “The Notorious” posted on X, claiming that he’s been offered an opponent and a date for his comeback, which he has accepted. However, he is still waiting for his contract.
“I have been offered an opponent and a date, and I accept. “Waiting on my contract.”
Earlier this year, the Irishman had stated during a Roblox stream that after the UFC’s deal with Paramount, he would need to sign a new contract, as his previous one was based on pay-per-view sales, and the pay-per-view model is no longer in place in most places.
Who could Conor McGregor’s next opponent be?
Conor McGregor last fought at UFC 264 in 2021, where he snapped his leg in Round 1 during his trilogy bout against Dustin Poirier. Following recovery and rehabilitation, he served as head coach on TUF 31 in 2023 opposite Michael Chandler. In 2024, at UFC 303, McGregor and Chandler were slated to headline the pay-per-view until the Dubliner decided to withdraw due to a toe-injury.
While fans had anticipated that whenever McGregor returns, he would lock horns with Chandler, in 2026, Dana White is no longer interested in this bout.
Hence, as Conor McGregor claims he has received an offer in the now-deleted X post, it will be interesting to see who the opponent is.
Names like Mauricio Ruffy and Nate Diaz have already shown interest in facing “The Notorious.” Even Jorge Masvidal had expressed his desire to compete at the White House card and take on McGregor. However, “Gamebred” recently revealed that he will not be part of the June 14 event.
