It’s an action-packed lineup in Delray Beach on Wednesday, with No. 2 seed Casper Ruud taking the court against Marcos Giron and Americans Sebastian Korda and Alex Michelsen going head-to-head.
(2) Casper Ruud vs. Marcos Giron
New father Casper Ruud will kick off his Delray Beach Open bid against American Marcos Giron on Wednesday night. This is a tricky first match for Ruud. The two men have played four times before and split wins at a two each. Ruud, who is ranked 13th in the world, racked up three wins in Melbourne but has come up short in his other tournaments so far in 2026.
Conversely, Giron has enjoyed a great start to the season. He has two semifinal showings already and pushed Learner Tien to the brink in the first round of the Australian Open. With Giron playing at home and already having a match under his belt in Delray Beach, I’m giving the edge to the world No. 64.
Cheryl pick: Giron in 3

Alex Michelsen vs. Sebastian Korda
This match is one to watch on Wednesday. Both Sebastian Korda and countryman Alex Michelsen are playing well. Michelsen posted a particularly impressive win in the first round over No. 6 seed Valentin Vacherot, while Korda took a business-as-usual approach en route to dispatching Mackenzie McDonald.

Michelsen owns a 1-0 record over Korda, but a single meeting is not a large enough sample size from which to draw any matchup conclusions — even though it was just a few months ago. Michelsen is higher ranked at 41st to Korda’s 50th. No upset is predicted in this one.
Cheryl pick: Michelsen in 3
Ricky pick: Michelsen in 3
