AEW pays tribute to Kerwin Silfies during 2/18 Dynamite

During Wednesday’s Dynamite, AEW paid tribute to former longtime WWE Director Kerwin Silfies, who passed away on Wednesday at the age of 75.

Bryan Danielson and Tony Schiavone at the commentary table both spoke about Silfies. Schiavone said he met him back in 1989 and called him “a great man and an even better director.”

Danielson said, while getting emotional told the tv audience that Silfies was “very kind and very patient” and that when he (Danielson arrived in WWE), he didn’t know anything about TV production, but Silfies was kind in teaching him.

Silfies first began with WWE in 1985 and departed the company during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Some of Silfies work includes directing all the episodes of Saturday Night’s Main Event in the 1980s, WrestleMania and WWE’s first set of broadcasts held in Saudi Arabia.
