Liverpool’s Paddy ‘The Baddy’ Pimblett has confirmed he has put on 36lb (16kg) since his interim lightweight title battle against Justin Gaethje at UFC 324.
Pimblett, who successfully made the 155lb (70kg) limit just 24 hours before his unanimous decision loss in Las Vegas on January 25, has returned to Merseyside to indulge in his well-known post-fight “food tours.” However, the 31-year-old insists that despite the jump in weight, he is in better shape than during previous off-seasons.
“I’ve been eating well”
In his latest vlog, Pimblett revealed he currently scales at 86kg (approx. 190lb). While a significant jump from his fighting weight, it is a far cry from the 95kg mark he has hit in the past.
“I weighed myself this morning, I was only 86kg,” Pimblett told his followers. “I’ve been at like 90-something at this stage before. I know the title says I got fat again, but I’m not that fat. We’re doing alright.”
Pimblett’s relationship with the scales has been a talking point throughout his UFC career. Following his 2022 win in London, the Scouser famously admitted to consuming nearly 11,000 calories in a single day. This time, while he has been touring Liverpool’s local eateries over the past three weeks, he appears to be maintaining a slightly more “restricted” unrestricted diet.
What’s Next for The Baddy?
The loss to Gaethje snapped a formidable seven-fight winning streak for Pimblett, moving his professional record to 23-4. Despite the setback in his first title opportunity, Paddy remains one of the biggest draws in the lightweight division.
With his weight currently sitting around the 190lb mark, fans will be watching closely to see how quickly “The Baddy” returns to the gym to begin his climb back toward the 155lb rankings.
