Looking for a side game that keeps everyone in the mix—scratch golfers and 30-handicaps alike? Enter The 3-Point Game, a fast-moving, partner-rotating, wallet-friendly battle.
How It Works
- Form Teams – Split into two-man teams. Rotate partners after each completed match so no one gets stuck carrying (or being carried) all day.
- High Ball vs. Low Ball – Each hole is a mini-match: compare the best ball (high) and worst ball (low) between teams. Win the hole, earn a point.
- First to 3 Wins – Once a team makes three points, that mini-match is over. Shuffle partners and start fresh.
Adding Some Spice
- Set the Stakes – Pick a dollar value for each match before teeing off.
- Back to Zero Rule – If a match leaves zero, then swings back to zero again, the pot bumps up a notch (X + X). This can repeat endlessly, cranking up the pressure.
- Skunk Bonus – If a team reaches 3 before the opponents even scratch the board, the match value doubles. Ouch.
Why It’s a Blast
The 3-Point Game guarantees action. There’s always something to play for, it keeps everyone engaged, and the rotating partners mean nobody stays in the doghouse for long. Best of all? You can win (or lose) plenty without emptying your golf fund.
