Emmy-winning actor Paul Walter Hauser is getting ready to return to the wrestling world in grand fashion. He has officially confirmed that he will play Mick Foley in a new limited series about the WWE Hall of Famer’s life.

This is a big step after years of rumors. Hauser had previously mentioned talks about playing Foley, but nothing was official until now.

The series won’t just focus on Foley’s wild wrestling career. While fans remember him as Mankind, Cactus Jack, and Dude Love, the show plans to tell the full story of Mick Foley, the person.

Hauser shared the news during an interview with The Stunner. He said the project is still in early development and hasn’t been pitched to networks yet, but it’s finally moving forward.

“We can kind of break that news. I haven’t said it yet, but I’m attached to play Mick in a limited series. We haven’t gone out to market yet, but it’s happening,” Hauser said.

Hauser explained that the goal is to show who Foley really is beyond the hardcore matches. He hopes to bring some of his own personality to the role and ensure the audience connects with Foley as a human being.

“Hopefully I can bring some of my personality to that aspect as well, because when you tell the story, you’ve got to humanize the guy. We’re not just telling the Mankind story. It’s like, no, this is the Mick Foley story,” Hauser added.

Foley became famous during WWE’s Attitude Era for his brutal matches. But outside the ring, many people describe him as kind, thoughtful, and devoted to his family. The limited series format should give the story more time and depth.

Hauser feels like a natural choice for the role. Besides being a successful actor, he is also involved in pro wrestling. He has wrestled on the independent scene, signed with Major League Wrestling, and appeared in Ring of Honor. He even won the PROGRESS Proteus Championship in Las Vegas.
