TNA IMPACT RESULTS FOR FEB. 19
Indi Hartwell defeated Heather by Elegance. M, the Personal Concierge, and Mr. Elegance were ejected after multiple attempts at interference. Hartwell shed off Heather’s attempt at a springboard Spanish Fly, then she landed a flying ebow drop to Heather’s spine. Ash exited commentary to distract Hartwell. Heather scored a roll-up grabbing the tights, but Hartwell kicked out. Heather went into the ropes and ran into Hurts Donut to lose. Of note, Ash trashed Mickie James on commentary and wants to meet face to face next week.
Earlier in the day, Steve Maclin tired to get into the building. Tom Hannifan talked sense to his friend. Maclin risked getting arrested, but he didn’t care. He wants to plead his case to the world. Maclin asked Hannifan to speak with management to get him in. Hannifan said that he will see what he can do. Commentary updated a tease that management might have an answer tonight.
Mike Santana was given promo time in the ring. He warned Maclin to stop knocking on death’s door, or else he will answer to drop Maclin on his ass. Santana called in Leon Slater to apologize for ditching the tag match at No Surrender when he brawled with Maclin. Slater was cool with it, especially since he pinned former world champion Nic Nemeth. Nic and Ryan interrupted on stage. Nic accused Slater of getting lucky on that win. Trash talk ensued, and Slater issued a tag team challenge against the Nemeths. Daria Rae entered the scene to flex her power. Wrestlers don’t make the matches. She does. Maybe she’ll squeeze it in for next week. For now, get out of her ring, so the show can proceed.
The System mocked Moose for not staying away. This is the final warning for Moose. He was dead weight in the System. Accept defeat and move on. The System are moving on with eyes on all the gold in TNA.
Frankie Kazarian approached Daria to request being on commentary for next week’s tag match between Santana & Slater versus the Nemeths. Daria was okay with that. Hannifan was not okay with that.
Arianna Grace gloated about being the new Knockouts champion. She acknowledged that her daddy got the match, but she won the title herself. Arianna issued an apology to Santino Marella. She was sorry (sarcastic) that she played Santino like a fiddle in front of the whole world. Arianna is proof that wrestling isn’t about toughness. It’s about leveraging everything in your power to get what you want. Stacks will win back the TNA International Championship to solidify them as the most powerful couple in the business.
TNA International Championship: Trey Miguel (c) defeated Stacks to retain the title. Stacks used Arianna as a shield to get the early edge. Stacks shouted at president Carlos Silva. Silva stood up for himself, and that distraction helped Trey take advantage. The match continued with near falls on a lifting DDT from Stacks and a Meteora from Trey. Arianna slid the title belt into the ring. The referee immediately confiscated the foreign object. Stacks used that distraction to gouge Trey’s eyes. Trey countered a fireman’s carry into a roll-up. Kick out by Stacks. Trey kept the pressure on for Shell Shock, a scorpion kick, and the Lightning Spiral to win. Okay match with occasional awkward chemistry.
Eric Young threatened the cameraman to deliver a message for the masses. The cleanse will save TNA from liars, thieves, and false prophets. Leon Slater is a false prophet seeking validation from another company (WWE). Young accused Slater of ruining the legacy of the X-Division. Young aims to fix that. (Young has an X-Division title shot from Feast or Fired.) He is launching the second phase of the cleanse to save TNA. I don’t know what the first phase was.
Jody Threat defeated Tessa Blanchard via disqualification. Competitive match. Blanchard worked to wear down her opponent. Threat boosted with energy to lift Blanchard for her finisher. Victoria Crawford and Mila Moore barged in to attack Threat. The referee called for the bell. Tessa taunted Threat that she will never be on her level. Harley Hudson and Myla Grace made the save.
Sinner & Saint defeated Rich Swann & BDE. Quick teamwork sequences for both teams on offense. The fan favorites had a near fall on a springboard cutter from BDE followed by a handspring cutter from Swann. Travis Williams saved Judas Icarus on the pin. Sinner & Saint took control down the stretch to finish BDE on the high low combo. Good sportsmanship for handshakes after the match. Interesting result with the better team beating the bigger stars. The growth of BDE continues.
Mance Warner and Steph De Lander were angry about AJ Francis being crass at No Surrender. They barged into Top Dolla’s locker room to interrupt his session with the honeys. Fists were thrown until security broke it up.
The Hardys won’t hide from defending the tag titles against the System. The faction entered the scene outnumbering the Hardys. The Righteous evened the odds. The System exited with advice for the Hardys not to trust the Righteous. Dutch apologized to Matt for miscommunication at No Surrender. He will continue apologizing until earning the trust of the Hardys. Matt wondered how they would do that. It sounds like an 8-man tag team match is coming.
Elayna Black blamed Mara Sade of being jealous that she is the new top star in TNA. Black claimed that Sade was handed the opportunity to be a pro wrestler, whereas she earned her way up through the indies. Sade was ready to fight and challenged Black.
Steve Maclin will be granted interview time next week on Impact.
Guitar Case Casket Match: Elijah defeated Mustafa Ali. Order 4 were banned from ringside for the main event. They didn’t listen. Down the stretch, Agent Zero manhandled Elijah. The music man threw powder in Zero’s eyes. Elijah clotheslined the Great Hands. Elijah picked up Tasha Steelz for a piledriver, but he tricked Ali into breaking the guitar on Steelz. Elijah hit the tombstone on Ali. As he rolled Ali into the casket, the Great Hands prevented the lid from being shut. Outnumbered again, Elijah rallied to smash a guitar on Ali. He rammed the Great Hands off the apron crashing through a table. Order 4 previously placed a door over the casket entrance as a blockade. Elijah chokeslammed Ali through the door into the casket and closed the lid to win. The Impact fans walked with Elijah to close the show.
