Reports: IU football coach Curt Cignetti’s contract now worth .2 million annually through 2033 – Inside the Hall

According to multiple reports on Friday, IU football coach Curt Cignetti’s eight-year contract, which he agreed to in October, is now worth $13.2 million annually.

The Indianapolis Star, Bloomington Herald-Times and ESPN.com all reported the amended contract for Cignetti.

The bump to $13.2 million from $11.6 million was due to a good market faith review that was triggered when the Hoosiers reached the College Football Playoff Semifinal in early January.

As a result of the review, Cignetti is now among the sport’s highest-paid coaches, along with Georgia’s Kirby Smart and LSU’s Lane Kiffin. This is the third contract revision at IU for Cignetti since his hiring in December of 2023.

The Hoosiers finished the 2025 season with a perfect 16-0 mark and won the national championship for the first time in program history.

Over two seasons in Bloomington, the 64-year-old Cignetti is 27-2. His contract runs through the 2033 season.
