This MTB Components Brand Has Donated Over $1 Million to Mountain Bike Trails Since 2013

This MTB Components Brand Has Donated Over Million to Mountain Bike Trails Since 2013

There are a few brands that put their money where their mouth is, and OneUp Components is one of those few. The components brand is well-known and very well-loved for making some of the best carbon handlebars and dropper posts on the market, but when they launched the 1% Giveback Program, they showed the community that they are for the culture, not just about making world-class components.

This week, OneUp Components has released a deep dive into the trails they helped support in 2025, featuring over a dozen trail organizations and communities across North America.

On top of the 1% Giveback Program, OneUp has also recently launched the Support Your Local Bike Race initiative to support those who want to see more grassroots races in their community.

OneUp Components Press Release

When OneUp was founded in 2013, we were inspired by Patagonia’s 1% for the Planet
program. Since that time, we have donated 1% of all sales to trail associations, bike charities, and environmental groups. In 2024, we reached a big milestone: one million dollars in total OneUp donations.

This is the first dispatch in a series of deep dives that will look into the three pillars of our 1% program: trail organizations, bike charities, and environmental groups. Today, we look back at the trails we supported in 2025.

Trails

We give to trail associations because we recognize that without trails, there is no mountain biking. The money we give goes towards the maintenance and construction of trails and funds community programs to build stoke for riding bikes. Our goal is to establish long-standing relationships with associations to help them invest and plan for the long term.

Partnership Spotlights

Squamish Off Road Cycling Association (SORCA)

OneUp is based in Squamish, Canada. It’s where we ride the most, and SORCA is our
longest-standing partner. We work closely with the SORCA team to help them maintain,
improve, and build the trails in our backyard.

“As the primary stewards of a 300 km+ MTB trail network, our non-profit trail organization could not be effective without the support of community-minded businesses like OneUp. OneUp’s support allows SORCA to invest in additional paid trail crew while our advocacy team can work with the Squamish Nation, landowners, and managers to ensure the public has continued access to the incredible land in and around Squamish.”
Ian Lowe, Executive Director, SORCA

Pisgah Area Southern Off-Road Bicycle Association (SORBA)

Pisgah, in North Carolina, is a 4,600km drive from Squamish. Despite the distance, we’ve built a strong partnership with the Pisgah Area SORBA to support the thriving network and community there.

“The support from OneUp Components’ 1% program comes at a literal turning point for our trails. As we kick off our 2026 strategic plan, this partnership provides the critical fuel we need to move beyond being just a maintenance crew. It’s allowing us to build the organizational capacity required to launch our first dedicated programs for women and youth, ensuring that stewardship in Pisgah is as diverse and vibrant as the community that rides here. With that said, caring for our trails takes community, and OneUp Components has been a partner that represents that in such a thoughtful and supportive way. We are so grateful!”
– Chris Kehmeier, Executive Director, Pisgah Area SORBA
