Starboy Charlie’s WWE status just went from speculation to something a whole lot more real.
After the independent standout popped up at Friday night’s WWE EVOLVE tapings, questions started flying about whether he was just getting a look — or if something bigger was already in place. Now there’s an update, and it sounds like the deal may already be done.
According to Bodyslam.net, WWE is continuing to scout talent worldwide for its WWE ID program as well as potential NXT and main roster contracts. Sources told the outlet that Starboy Charlie currently has a deal with WWE. The report states:
“WWE continues to scout the world for their WWE ID program and NXT/main roster deals. Sources indicate to Bodyslam that Starboy Charlie has a deal with WWE. Starboy Charlie worked tonight’s EVOLVE tapings. It is believed that he has a WWE ID deal at this time.”
Translation? He’s not just visiting. While WWE hasn’t officially announced anything, working EVOLVE tapings is often a strong indicator that a talent is already in the system — especially under the WWE ID banner. The WWE ID program places prospects under contract while allowing them to continue developing on the independent scene, with WWE closely monitoring their progress. Many of those talents regularly appear on WWE EVOLVE, which streams weekly on Tubi.
Charlie brings serious indie credibility with him. The 11-year veteran is a regular for West Coast Pro Wrestling and GCW, and he’s currently a co-holder of the West Coast Pro Tag Team Championships alongside Titus Alexander. He’s also a former Prestige Champion and former West Coast Pro Heavyweight Champion. He’s even logged time in AEW, working three matches between 2023 and 2025, including a six-man tag appearance on AEW Collision last year.
There’s still no confirmed timeline on when the deal was signed, but between the EVOLVE appearance and the report, it looks like Starboy Charlie is officially inside the WWE pipeline.
