NHL Central Scouting Mid-Term Rankings for 2026 NHL Draft
NHL Central Scouting Service released its 2026 Mid-Term Draft Prospect Rankings on January 12th. Two UNH Commits, previously identified as “Players to Watch” by Central Scouting, also made the mid-term list.
Niko Tournas is ranked the 81st North American skater eligible for the 2026 NHL Draft. Central Scouting considers Tournas a candidate for selection in the 3rd Round. Pavel Martinu is ranked 176th, a potential 6th round pick.
Niko Tournas
In his third year of NHL draft eligibility Tournas has become a top scorer in the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League. In 38 games with the Moncton Wildcats, he has scored 26 goals, 19 assist with a +12 rating. Tournas is tied for 11th in QMJHL scoring, tied for 5th in goals, and tied 4th in power play goals (9). Among his goal-scoring skills is a quick release as demonstrated in this video clip.

Pavel Martinu
Pavel Martinu is in his first full season of junior hockey and second year of NHL draft eligibility. In 30 games with the Sioux City Musketeers (USHL), he has scored 6 goals, 5 assists with a -4 rating. Over the last 4 games, Martinu has stepped up his offensive play scoring 3 goals on 8 shots on goal plus an assist. In one game he scored the game-winner on this penalty shot.
