Britt Baker Breaks Silence On Retirement Rumors And Confirms Wrestling Future

Britt Baker is not hanging up her boots — and she wants everyone to know it.

After more than a year off AEW television, the former AEW Women’s Champion finally addressed the speculation surrounding her future during a red carpet interview with Adam Glyn. With fans questioning whether she had quietly stepped away from wrestling for good, Baker delivered a direct answer.

“I would not say I’m retired, no.”

That statement alone will get attention, especially considering Baker hasn’t wrestled since November 2024. Rumors have swirled for months about creative issues, backstage tension, or even a potential jump elsewhere. But according to Baker, she’s still very much in the game.

When asked what she’d like to say to fans who continue to debate her status online, Baker made it clear she’s watching the conversation unfold — and she’s enjoying every second of it.

“I just love that the fans are still talking about me. Keep the chatter up because I love it. Stay tuned.”

That “stay tuned” line feels intentional. No date. No timeline. Just enough to keep people guessing. Baker also opened up about her life outside the ring. Known for balancing dentistry and wrestling, she confirmed she’s no longer practicing full-time — and revealed why that decision became necessary.

“As much as I love the wrestling fans, they are a little passionate, sometimes for their own good and my own safety. It got a little carried away sometimes with some scary wrestling fans wanting to come kill me because I’m a bad guy.”

That’s not storyline talk — that’s real-life safety concerns. And it paints a clearer picture of why Baker may have stepped back from the spotlight.

AEW President Tony Khan recently said he expects Baker back but wouldn’t commit to a timeline. Now that Baker herself has spoken, it’s clear she isn’t done — she’s just waiting. So what’s next for The Doctor? A surprise return? A major storyline reset? Or something nobody sees coming?
