Manchester City meet Newcastle United tonight.
That Premier League match an 8pm kick-off at the Etihad.
Pep Guardiola and Eddie Howe going head to head.
Ahead of that first team match though, the Under 18s of the two clubs meeting.
Newcastle United and Manchester City with their young up and coming stars playing, a morning kick-off on Tyneside.
The United under 18s couldn’t have started the match any better.
Dominating the early stages of this league match, Newcastle United Under 18s taking a ninth minute lead through a header from Jayden Koussou.
Kacey Wooster firing home on 17 minutes for 2-0.
Then Henry Johnson heading home.
With 21 minutes on the clock, the young Newcastle United stars 3-0 up and also having hit the woodwork a couple of times.
What could possibly go wrong…?
Manchester City of course have incredible quality throughout their club, at all levels, not just first team.
Reigning champions at Under 18 level, they once again showed why.
Finlay Gorman and Karim Cassim both scoring, United only 3-2 up at the break.
Then just 13 seconds into the restart, Manchester City’s Teddie Lamb equalised.
With just under 20 minutes left on the clock, Lamb getting his second goal and Man City now 4-3 up.
With a few minutes to go, Dexter Oliver added a fifth for the visitors that produced a final 5-3 scoreline that was harsh on the Newcastle United youngsters.
However, a lot of positives today on show, as they continue on their learning curve towards hopefully some of them becoming future first team players.
