He helped Miami make the national championship game in 2025.

Akheem Mesidor Strengths
Mesidor has a great motor, playing like his hair is on fire at all times. He starts plays off well, but he goes until he finishes the play. Against the run, he shows good effort to get off his blocks and then he pursues the ball carrier with determination. There are plenty of times when he keeps making his way towards quarterbacks and gets sacks that are truly just based on his effort.
Over his time in college, Mesidor has added a variety of ways to get to the quarterback. He can speed rush and get around the edge to get to the quarterback. His ability to convert speed to power is not outstanding, but he can do it. Mesidor also has some pass rush moves to utilize and seems to have a plan on how to use them going into each play. When his rushed is stalled, he has good counters. His effort will also get him sacks, too.
He is athletic for an edge rusher, helping him win his matchups. Mesidor has solid acceleration, which aids him in getting a good jump at the snap. He has good agility and flexibility, so he can bend around the edge or change direction to defeat blocks. Mesidor has solid speed to get to the quarterback or run down ball carriers.
Akheem Mesidor Weaknesses
Mesidor doesn’t have the desired height and length of an NFL edge rusher. He has a filled out frame at 265 pounds, but is just 6-foot-3. His arm length is also shorter than most NFL edge rushers. He can struggle to shed at times due to his lack of length.
He is an older prospect who will be 25 during his rookie year. Mesidor looks ready to play now, but he won’t have much time to develop his game, given his age. Teams will wonder about how impactful he can be early because of his age, but they will also have questions about his injury history, as he has a foot injury that will need to be checked out.
His motor is a gift, but at times he an be too overzealous to make plays. He can be fooled by play action and misdirection as he is looking to make plays. Mesidor will need to stay disciplined at the next level, all while not letting it negatively impact his great motor.
