Khamzat Chimaev wasted no time in responding to Sean Strickland’s callout following the latter’s dominant stoppage win in the UFC Houston main event.
Strickland stepped foot in the octagon after more than a year and returned to the win column by dismantling surging contender Anthony Hernandez.
“Tarzan” worked behind his signature jab, controlled the pace, and used teep kicks to stop “Fluffy” from finding any possible opening. Early in the third round, Strickland delivered a devastating knee to Hernandez’s midsection that had the latter retreating. However, the former champ wasted no time and went for the final kill, unleashing a barrage of punches and a series of uppercuts, after which “Fluffy” went down, forcing referee Herb Dean to call for the stoppage at the 2:33 mark of Round 3.
With that TKO win, Sean Strickland not only ended Hernandez’s eight-fight UFC win streak but also scored his first finish in nearly three years, placing himself right back in the middleweight title picture.
After getting his hand raised at UFC Houston, “Tarzan” wasted no time firing shots at “Borz.” He said this at the octagon interview:
“If Chimaev finally gets off the bench here, I’d like a piece of that little Chechen wh**e. But you never know with him, bro. You never know with that guy, but that’s what I want.”

Khamzat Chimaev responds to Sean Strickland
Khamzat Chimaev, who had his eyes on the UFC Houston live broadcast, had a quick reply for Sean Strickland.
In response to Strickland’s comments, Chimaev reminded him of his two losses to Dricus du Plessis and also how “Borz” dethroned “Stillknocks” with ease. The reigning UFC middleweight champion posted on X:
“Habibi, calm down, I destroyed the guy who beat you twice 🤫 American b**ch 😂”
Throughout fight week, “Tarzan” took multiple shots at “Borz,” pointing out that the Chechen-born Emirati, despite capturing the middleweight title last year, has yet to defend it even once.
After the fight, Strickland also called Chimaev a “clown” for wanting to move up to 205 pounds already.
