Recent AEW Walkout Receives WWE Tryout » TWNP-Wrestling News

Traditionally speaking, walking out of a booked shot can get you blacklisted in the wrestling industry. However, that might not be the case in the ongoing WWE vs. AEW talent war. After all, a recent AEW walkout was a part of the four-day tryout camp at the WWE Performance Center. Nixon Newell’s partner, Miranda Alize, completed a lifelong goal of trying out for the WWE just months after her AEW walkout. In fact, the women who replaced Newell and Alize have now received AEW contracts! See what’s next for the girlfriend of Tegan Nox, fresh off their AEW departure.

Miranda Alize Takes Part in WWE Tryout After Recent AEW Walkout

WWE held a four-day tryout at the Performance Center this past week. The list of participants is a who’s who in the independent scene. However, one name that raised some eyebrows was Miranda Alize.

The Lucha Baddie shared the following image on Instagram:

WWE’s invitation to Miranda Alize raised a lot of eyebrows. After all, Miranda Alize and Nixon Newell walked out of AEW after being booked to lose multiple weeks in a row.

Will Nixon Newell Impact Miranda Alize’s WWE Chances?

When Vince McMahon ran WWE, many competitors stated that he lived by the credo that if someone walked out on one company, they would walk out on yours. However, Miranda Alize might be a slightly different story.

She was booked as a packaged deal in ROH/AEW with her girlfriend, Nixon Newell. Newell was fresh off her WWE run as Tegan Nox and also recently announced that 2026. Therefore, the former Tegan Nox most likely didn’t want to spend her last year in wrestling looking up at the lights.

Now, Miranda Alize is on her own. Tegan Nox is out of the WWE system and is no longer teaming with her girlfriend. This career separation might be the breakthrough that Miranda Alize needs. Nonetheless, she is still grateful for the support of Nixon. Miranda Alize thanked her in her post about the WWE tryout.

Other WWE Tryout Recruits

Miranda Alize wasn’t the only noteworthy name to take part in WWE’s four-day recruitment camp. WWE hosted a variety of future Superstars to take part in festivities.

Here’s a rundown of some of the most notable names to receive a look from WWE:

  • Marie Malenko: Daughter of AEW Coach Dean Malenko, recently debuted for Pro Wrestling NOAH
  • Notorious Mimi: Former NXT Superstar, AEW Dark competitor, Sloane Jacobs, Monster Factory trainee
  • Zoë Sager: Canadian wrestler, loosely affiliated with WWE ID
  • Promise Braxton: Texas independent wrestler, works with Booker T’s Reality of Wrestling
  • Ricky South: Australian wrestler
  • Valentina Rossi: NWA Wrestler, former NWA Women’s Tag Team Champion
  • Fallyn Grey: Wrestling nomad with experience in NWA and Mexico
  • Nikki Blackheart: Coastal Championship Wrestling Women’s Champion
  • The Tuckman: Australian standout

It’s important to make a name for yourself at these tryouts. Rayne Leverkusen was named the MVP of last year’s SummerSlam tryouts. The Maiden of Mayhem recently dropped some of her indie Titles, leading to speculation that Rayne Leverkusen is WWE-bound.
