How much selling will the New York Rangers be interested in doing? Could Vladislav Gavrikov become available?
Daily Faceoff: Muke Rupp on the New York Rangers and what might be in store for them. Defenseman Vladislav Gavrikov could become a trade target. When Gavrikov signed his seven-year deal with the Rangers last offseason, he probably wasn’t thinking they would be going through a bit of retool this early into the contract. Vincent Trocheck will be a big target for teams, and there are a few others that might draw some interest.
“Yeah, I think Trocheck is the, is the one, he’s the one. I think that’s a lot to get moved after him. Where do you stop with this? I don’t, I don’t know. I don’t know what their, their view is, and how quick they think they can turn this around. But you certainly, I think, have some, some pieces.
I mean, there are a lot of rumors. You don’t know what’s true, but there’s a lot of, I’m hearing that Gavrikov might be looking at, you know, where’s the direction of this team? Like this isn’t necessarily what he signed up for. You know what I mean?

So, you know, I wonder where some of these decisions are with these, these players moving forward. So we have a team established. This is where we are at. This is where we are going. We send that letter out. But now you have some players who have to maybe reevaluate some things as well. So I don’t know.
I think Vinnie Trocheck would be the definite one, you know, after that kind of look. And I mean, they don’t have really any UFAs that are going to overly move the needle? I think Jonny Brodzinski would be an awesome ad for somebody, but he’s like, you know, he’s a depth piece at this point.
So, you know, Jonathan Quick was one that I thought was potentially going to move earlier in the year, but when I think you pointed out some of his numbers, it’s, kind of dropped off quite a bit for him. So you know, you’d be adding him as like a second or third goalie for some of these teams.”
