ESPN Announces Women’s Soccer News Featuring Trinity Rodman, NWSL Stars

Fans of the NWSL will soon be able get a behind-the-scenes look at Washington Spirit star Trinity Rodman and her fellow stars around the league.

ESPN announced its newest original series, NWSL: The Final Third. The series will premiere February 25 on the ESPN App, with its linear debut airing March 2 at 9 p.m. ET on ESPN2. The series can also be found on Disney+ from March 2 through March 31.

NWSL: The Final Third closely followed Washington, Angel City FC and the Kansas City Current during the 2025 regular season and playoffs. This trio of clubs was chosen because of the dramatic storylines, franchise-altering decisions and the drive for success surrounding each franchise.

“The three teams we embedded with were navigating very different realities as the 2025 regular season concluded, and the drama that unfolded was incredible to witness,” director Marie Margolius said. “I hope viewers come away feeling inspired by the intensity of the competition on the pitch — but most of all, connected to the players who shoulder the pressure and live with the consequences of every result off of it.”
