Last night in Nottingham, Ishmail Davis 15-3 (6 Ko’s) appeared to be enjoying every advantage in the first half of a fight that would be the first defence of his British and Commonwealth super welterweight titles, however somewhere along the way the determined Bilal Fawaz 10-1-1 (3 Ko’s) found a foothold in the fight and pulled himself back only to grab the titles against all the odds with a majority decision 114-114, 115-113 and 115-114. Fawaz story is like movie script where he was trafficked as a child and found himself in the United Kingdom, and to this day has been unable to obtain legitimate passport papers for the country that he is today champion of.
