“You won’t see that mindset again”

Lewis Hamilton has opened up about his future with Ferrari in Formula 1, describing 2026 as a fresh start and revealing a renewed mindset ahead of the first Grand Prix of the season.

With Bahrain testing for the 2026 F1 campaign now completed, Hamilton shared a powerful message on social media, declaring that he is “not going anywhere” and confirming his determination to turn the page with Ferrari after a highly complicated first year in red. The seven-time world champion admitted that he had “forgotten” who he was during the previous season – the most difficult of his career – which ended without a single podium finish for the first time.

As Formula 1 embarks on a new regulatory cycle that has significantly reshaped chassis design, aerodynamics and power units, Ferrari appeared competitive throughout pre-season testing. Although the true competitive order will only become clear after several races and will continue to evolve, the SF-26 looks like a solid starting point for the Maranello-based team. Charles Leclerc set the fastest lap time in Bahrain, while the new Ferrari power unit demonstrated both strong reliability and encouraging performance levels.

Hamilton fires up on social media: “You won’t see that mindset again”

“It’s the end of the testing phase, it’s exciting to see a team giving everything to build a car,” Hamilton wrote on social media. “It’s the most fascinating part of this job for me. Everything is built from scratch, designed and redesigned over and over again. And then only a few of us get to put that car to the test. That feeling never gets old.”

“I want to say a huge thank you to everyone at the factory for the hard work that’s gone into getting us to this point!! I’m truly grateful. I love this job so much and I love working with my team and racing for the fans. I’m incredibly lucky to be able to do what I do, and I’m excited for the season ahead.”

“I’ve reset and I feel re-energized. I’m not going anywhere, so stick with me. For a moment, I forgot who I was, but thanks to you and your support you won’t see that mindset again,” the British driver added. “I know what needs to be done. This will be an incredible season. I’ve given everything to be here today. Let’s go, team!!!”

With the 2026 Formula 1 season about to begin in Australia, Lewis Hamilton’s message is clear: this is a new chapter with Ferrari, built on renewed confidence, a competitive SF-26, and a strong desire to fight back at the front of the grid.
