The Dragons are looking to strengthen in the back-three
The Dragons are closing in on the signing of Tongan wing Anzelo Tuitavuki from Colomiers, WalesOnline has learnt.
Tuitavuki has been plying his trade in the French PRO D2 over the past couple of seasons, scoring 13 tries for Colomiers. The 27-year-old previously played for Moana Pasifika in Super Rugby Pacific and Hawke’s Bay in New Zealand’s National Provincial Championship.
He has also won nine caps for Tonga and WalesOnline understands he is on the verge of signing for the Dragons.
While the off-field uncertainty has not helped any of Wales’ four professional clubs with recruitment, the Dragons are not prepared to stand still and Filo Tiatia has been working hard behind the scenes to strengthen the squad.
Tuitavuki is a powerful wing with explosive pace and is one of the most potent finishers in PRO D2.

The Tonga international will join a strong group of backrow players at Rodney Parade which includes Rio Dyer, Fine Inisi, David Richards, Jared Rosser, Ewan Rosser and Huw Anderson.
Under Tiatia the Dragons have made significant strides forward this season and are no longer the poor relations to the other Welsh sides.
They have beaten the Scarlets, drawn with the Ospreys and picked up a losing bonus point against Cardiff at the Arms Park—a marked improvement on previous seasons.
But to build on the improvements this season they will need to strengthen the squad and also find a replacement for Wales No 8 Aaron Wainwright who has signed for English giants Leicester Tigers while also adding some strength in depth.

It is understood the Dragons are in the market for an international class backrower and an outside-half, among other positions.
But Tuitavuki should add extra power and cutting edge out wide while he is also strong defensively and under the high ball.
