Las Vegas’ own Segway (yeah, that Segway) has been a big player in the Micro Mobility and LEV (Light Electric Vehicles) space for some time now. Recently, they released two new eBikes, the Myon and the Muxi (pronounced “moo-shee”). Both of these new steeds include some interesting features with relatively low prices.

The Myon and Muxi, are aimed at a wider audience than their previous models. Both of the new bikes feature Segway’s Intelligent Ride System, which includes security features like Apple Find My integration and AirLock proximity unlocking. It also has a “Lost Mode” that lets users remotely disable stolen bikes.

The Intelligent Ride System also provides over-the-air updates for six different components, a full-color HD display, automatic lighting, and real-time fitness data syncing. The upgraded Algorithm 2.0 uses multiple sensors for smoother power delivery that responds more naturally to pedaling input.
Segway Myon

The Myon is available now through Segway’s website and dealers. It operates as a Class 1, 2, or 3 e-bike and is suitable for both commuting and recreational riding.
The Myon includes Segway’s new electronic shifting system that’s paired with a 9-speed Shimano drivetrain. Plus, the Myon comes with TurboTuned motor optimization technology.

There’s also an option for a removable top tube accessory that can convert the step-through frame to a traditional diamond design. Seagway says that this adds stiffness to the frame and allows for up to 11 lbs of additional accessories, like frame bags.
The electronic shifting system uses simple +/- buttons on the handlebars. Those are connected to a servo unit near the rear derailleur, which looks a bit more intentional than other mechanical-to-electronic shifting conversions we’ve seen. There’s still a bit of cable and housing to worry about maintaining, but it should be way easier to replace than internally routed housing through an ebike frame.

Since the auto-shifting is powered by the main battery, riders don’t need to worry themselves to charge separate components. The system can receive software updates for future improvements. Users can fine-tune shifting performance through the app without needing to be a bike mechanic.
Segway’s TurboTuned technology uses “precise sensors, physics-based algorithms, and multiple input sources including torque, cadence, and gyroscope data.” The tech then uses the data from these sensors to optimize the motor and battery system.

When needed, this approach delivers stronger performance than the 500-watt rating might suggest. The Myron’s system provides up to 80 miles of range with 85 Nm of peak torque.

Segway Muxi

The new Segway Muxi is a short-tail eBike that combines a compact frame with cargo-carrying capabilities. The bike features a low standover height and upright riding position. This makes it more accessible for various riders.
Its single-speed drivetrain pairs with a direct-drive motor, and riders can choose between Class 1 or Class 2 operation depending on their local regulations and riding preferences.

The Muxi’s modular design allows riders to customize their setup with separate accessories. Coming this March will be a Passenger Kit that includes a seat, foot pegs, and wheel guards. This will enable the Muxi to carry a passenger up to 120 pounds.
Additional accessories include a middle basket for extra cargo space and fenders to keep the rider looking spiffy when the route gets sloppy. The bike comes standard with a fold-down cupholder for convenient beverage control during rides.
The Muxi is equipped with safety and control features. These can be helpful in the bike’s cargo-carrying capabilities and through varied riding conditions.
For example, Hill Start Assist prevents the bike from rolling backward when starting on slopes. While Hill Descent Control manages speed during downhill rides and reduces brake wear.

Muxi’s Traction Control System monitors wheel spin and adjusts power delivery to maintain stability. Finally, Regenerative braking helps extend battery range by converting kinetic energy back into stored power.
The Muxi also integrates with Segway’s Intelligent Ride System, providing the same security and convenience features through connected technology as the Myon.
This combination of practical cargo capacity, safety systems, and smart features positions the Muxi as a versatile option for riders who need both utility and flexibility in their daily transportation or recreational riding.
