Luke Menzies is physically recovering — but mentally, he’s still weighing his next move when it comes to wrestling.
After recently announcing he had been cleared for unrestricted physical exercise following a two-level cervical disc replacement, the former WWE Superstar provided a deeper update on his future. While appearing on The Mike Rand Show on February 28, 2026, Holland was asked directly whether fans could see him wrestle again and if he feels like he has unfinished business in the ring.
He began by addressing his current physical condition, making it clear he’s in a much better place than he was just months ago: “Yeah, I’m feeling really good — honestly, tons better than I was.” Holland then laid out the timeline of surgeries that sidelined him, explaining just how intense the recovery process has been over the past several months.
“I had foot surgery in early October, then a double cervical disc replacement in early November. And just this past Friday, I had the hardware taken out of my foot. So, fingers crossed that’s the last time I’m getting cut for a while. I’m kind of over surgeries at this point.”
Reflecting on the physical toll, he added a bit of humor while acknowledging the grind of the process.
“I feel like I’ve donated my body to medical science recently. But overall, I’m feeling good, man. I’m optimistic about the future.”
When the conversation shifted to whether he ever considered walking away for good, Holland admitted that retirement initially felt like the only option after his injury.
“Initially, when I got hurt, I was like, ‘I’m done,’ just because of everything that happened. I felt like I needed to step away and recalibrate.”
However, with distance and recovery, his perspective has changed. Holland explained that part of his motivation stems from not feeling like he ever truly showed his full potential during his previous run. That lingering sense of unfinished business is what keeps the possibility of a return alive.
“But I never really got the chance to go out there and truly enjoy it and feel like myself — to really show who I am. After prior experiences, I was always a little bit hesitant, a little bit not fully me. I don’t think I ever really achieved what I was capable of showing. So there is a big part of me that wants to go out there again — not for anyone else, not for outside validation, but just to do it for me. Whether that comes to fruition, I don’t know yet. But there’s definitely an itch there I still feel like I need to scratch. I’m just not ready to make a concrete decision yet.”
For now, Holland is healthy, optimistic, and honest about where he stands. He isn’t committing to a comeback — but he’s also not closing the door.
Do you think Ridge Holland should make one more run now that he’s feeling better, or is it smarter for him to leave the ring on his own terms? Let us know your thoughts.
