Tindle brothers help TLJT to Senior Men’s gold glory amid excitement of National Relays

Saturday 28th February 2026

Brothers Cameron and Scott Tindle book-ended a fine team effort by Tweed Leader Jed Track to land relay gold glory in Glasgow.

The 4J National Relays rarely disappoint in terms of excitement and there was plenty of Saturday afternoon drama here.

Borders club TLJT were led off by Cameron and younger brother Scott was on the anchor to close out the success.

Home in 1:29.50 were the team of Cameron Tindle, Gordon Armstrong, Douglas Young and Scott Tindle.

VP-Glasgow pushed them hard to finish in second in 1:29.70 and there were bronze medals for Kilbarchan AAC (1:30.75)

The Senior Women’s final was, well, carnage and arguably an example of what can happens in relays.

Giffnock’s anchor leg runner tripped on the home straight while leading and the medals were subject to careful deliberations by the Officials.

When the dust settled, golds were awarded for Falkirk Victoria Harriers and silvers for Central AC and bronzes for Dundee Hawkhill Harriers.

Falkirk clocked 1:42.56 via their winning team of Aimee Calder, Alannah Snowden, Sofia Vidak and Kishi Aremu.

Three teams contested the U18 Men’s final and it was Shettleston who emerged as champions after a close race.

In fact, the Glasgow club won by just eight hundredths of a second in 1:33.84 from silver medallists Pitreavie AAC (1:33.92).

Well done to Shettleston’s team: David Omorogieva, Michael Nyarko, Victor Akintula and Raphael Johnson.

Law and District AAC took home bronze medals (1:34.674).

The U18 Women’s final saw the clearest outcome of the four finals – as Kilmarnock Harriers proved the dominant force.

Bringing it home were the quartet of Olivia Mcmillan, Kacey Watson, Beth Gladston and Cara Monachello in a time of 1:42.50.

Behind Kilmarnock, Livingston AC won the silver medal battle as Giffnock North came home in third.
