Manchester United welcome Crystal Palace to Manchester United in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

The Red Devils currently sit fourth in the top flight table but are level on points with fifth-placed Liverpool, although they do boast a game-in-hand over the Reds.

Victory at Old Trafford on Sunday will see United move three points clear of Liverpool in the race to secure Champions League qualification, while Chelsea – who are also in the race for a top four finish – visit league leaders Arsenal later on Sunday.

In the meantime, it has emerged that Man United are interested in a Bundesliga midfielder.

As per TEAMtalk, Man United’s scouts have been watching Stuttgart midfielder Chema Andres in action and have been impressed by the player’s performances.

Andres, 20, joined Stuttgart from Real Madrid’s Castilla academy last summer and is enjoying a fine debut season in Germany.

The young defensive midfielder has so far made 29 appearances across all competitions, establishing himself as a key player for the team.

Arsenal, Manchester City, Newcastle United, and Manchester United are all said to have sent scouts to watch the Spaniard in action, with all four clubs reporting positive feedback about the player’s performances.

Andres – who has been capped by Spain at Under-21 level – is a player that has attracted significant interest from several top clubs, but the report claims that United could face a stumbling block in their pursuit of the player.

Real Madrid – who sold the midfielder to Stuttgart last year – included a buy-back clause in the deal and therefore have the opportunity to re-sign the midfielder for a fee of just £10 million this summer.

The La Liga giants are said to be considering activating the clause and re-signing the midfielder in response to his impressive displays in Germany.
