CM Punk had some visible battle wounds after his successful title defense at WWE Elimination Chamber.
World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk defended his title and WrestleMania 42 main event spot against Finn Balor at Elimination Chamber. The two superstars put on a physical back-and-forth contest, and Punk got busted open on his lips from Balor’s stiff offense. However, the Straight Edge Superstar prevailed in the end.
CM Punk will now go on to defend the World Heavyweight Championship against 2026 men’s Royal Rumble winner Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 42. He addressed Reigns after the PLE when he appeared on the Elimination Chamber Post Show. However, fans couldn’t help but notice the visible black eye and bruises on his face when he came out.
“There’s a few footprints on my face right now, ladies and gentlemen. I gotta tell you, you all make it so worth it,” he said.
Finn Balor gave CM Punk quite the challenge tonight, and he might need some time to recover over the next seven weeks before he faces Roman Reigns, in what fans consider a dream match.
CM Punk is not the only one in his household to walk out of Elimination Chamber as champion, as his wife, AJ Lee, made Becky Lynch tap out to win the Women’s Intercontinental Championship.
Apart from CM Punk and AJ Lee’s victories, the PLE also featured Rhea Ripley and Randy Orton winning the women’s and men’s Elimination Chamber matches. WWE also unveiled what was inside the mystery crate.
