Jenny Rens, Vicki & Steve Buholz and I are about 90 minutes from taking off for Istanbul, then on to Antalya. We are gambling a bit that the ITF World Team Championships will go on as scheduled but no promises.
We had a relaxing day in Palm Beach Gardens…rain cancelled tennis plans for Jenny and Vicki…so it was a relaxing day of laundry, light workouts and walks on what turned out to be a very nice and warm Florida Sunday.
We took an Uber to the West Palm Beach Tri Rail station. The first Uber I ordered showed up early and left before 3:30 which was the scheduled time (to pick up someone on the adjacent cut de sac). So we quickly found another and made it to the train station in time for the 4:26 train to Miami Airport. Tri Rail is a bargain, $5 for transport to the airport which takes about two hours.
We did a bit of research on the possibilities of the ITF or USTA cancelling our event but eventually we decided to travel tonight. Check-in and security were quick after we made our decisions and we are ensconced in a very nice Turkish Airlines lounge.
