A new report from UEFA has revealed the top 20 clubs in Europe when it comes to merchandising revenues.
The report covers the latest full season, the 2024/25 campaign.
Barcelona are at the very top, generating merchandising revenues of €277m (£242m).
Their La Liga rivals Real Madrid are second highest, generating merchandising revenues of €231m (£202m).
Bayern Munich third highest, generating merchandising revenues of €189m (£165m).
The highest ranked Premier League club are Manchester United in fourth, generating merchandising revenues of €172m (£150m).
In total, seven Premier League clubs in the top eighteen:
4th Manchester United €172m (£150m)
5th Arsenal €151m (£132m)
6th Liverpool €148m (£129m)
7th Tottenham €102m (£89m)
9th Chelsea €95m (£83m)
11th Manchester City €85m (£74m)
18th Newcastle United United €40m (£35m)
Great news for Newcastle United is that this is a new club record.
In the 2023/24 season, United’s merchandising revenues were £11.4m.
So a rise of almost £24m, with the £35m 2024/25 Newcastle United figure.
The 2024/25 season was of course the first one of NUFC back with Adidas.
Mike Ashley having brought to an end ASAP after buying the club (once the existing contract ran out), the previous 15 year relationship between Newcastle United and Adidas that lasted from 1995 to 2010.
So Newcastle United now 18th highest in Europe for merchandising revenues and seventh highest in the Premier League.
However, a reality check as well that there is still such a huge financial chasm in so many areas, between the usual six suspects and Newcastle United.
18th highest in Europe and 7th in PL, but still well short of top clubs.
