India confirmed their place in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 semi finals with victory over West Indies in the final Super 8 fixture.
The defending champions eliminated the two time winners and set up a semi final against England, repeating the 2024 last four meeting. The sides will meet in the second semi final on March 5 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
South Africa will face New Zealand in the first semi final on March 4 at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
The winners will contest the final on March 8 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
India and West Indies both required victory on Sunday to advance. West Indies, asked to bat first, compiled 195. India reached the target with four balls remaining and five wickets in hand.
South Africa progressed as the leading side in Group 1, maintaining an unbeaten record. England topped Group 2 with three wins from three matches.
New Zealand secured qualification after the outcome of the Sri Lanka versus Pakistan Super Eight match in Kandy.
