They may have been riding gravel bikes, but they’re still mountain bikers to us
Mountain bikers Haley Batten and Russell Finsterwald were the big winners in the Belgian Waffle Ride in Arizona this past weekend.
We don’t always pay a lot of attention to gravel bike races, but when the winners are famous mountain bikers, we notice. We still consider them part of the mountain bike family, even when they choose to race other bikes.
We saw a picture of Haley Batten winning the BWR event, and she was riding a drop-bar bike. We presume Russell Finsterwald was too.
