Ian Machado Garry has alleged that UFC welterweight champion Islam Makhachev is not ready to fight him.
The No. 2-ranked 170-pound contender has been preparing for a potential title fight since he beat Belal Muhammad last year in Qatar.
A few weeks back, the Irishman went to Gori, Georgia, to refine his wrestling so that when the time comes, he is ready in every way to dethrone Makhachev.
Islam Makhachev is expected to make the first defense of his welterweight championship after Ramadan. As per Khabib Nurmagomedov, the 34-year-old will be back in action between May and July. However, it seems like “The Future” does mind waiting.
Ian Machado Garry says Islam Makhachev is not ready to fight him
Recently, Ian Machado Garry posted a post-training picture of himself, taken in Gori, Georgia, and in the caption added that he is ready to fight, but the P4P king needs more time. He also tagged Makhachev to the post so that the callout does not go unnoticed.
“I’m ready… He needs more time. Imagine being the number one pound-for-pound fighter on the planet and needing MORE time.”

Michael Morales calls out Islam Makhachev
This past weekend, during the UFC Mexico broadcast, when the cameras were on the undefeated and No. 3-ranked welterweight contender Michael Morales, who was in attendance for the fight night, he took the golden opportunity to call out Islam Makhachev.
Morales took out his phone and displayed a photo of Makhachev to call him out.

Now that Kamaru Usman has more or less confirmed that he is not getting the next title shot and other top-ranked contenders, Jack Della Maddalena and Carlos Prates, are set to face each other at UFC Perth on May 2, there is a higher probability that Makhachev will either face Ian Machado Garry or Michael Morales next.
