Arman Tsarukyan shares UFC’s targeted timeline for lightweight title shot after encouraging talks with matchmakers

Arman Tsarukyan’s UFC fighting future sounds very bright after recent conversations between the UFC lightweight and the matchmakers.

Top UFC lightweight contender Arman Tsarukyan’s fighting future might’ve become clearer ahead of the promotion’s big BMF title fight this weekend.

Max Holloway and Charles Oliveira will square off in a highly-anticipated rematch this weekend at UFC 326. Holloway, the UFC’s BMF titleholder, gets the chance to defend his BMF belt and to make a strong case for a shot at the undisputed lightweight title.

Tsarukyan will sit Octagonside at UFC 326 as he watches his former rival, Oliveira, battle Holloway for the BMF belt. Holloway defended the title last year at UFC 318, defeating Dustin Poirier by unanimous decision.

Since submitting Dan Hooker at UFC Qatar last year, Tsarukyan has been on the sidelines waiting for another potential shot at the undisputed lightweight title. His pre-fight headbutt of Hooker, combined with his last-second withdrawal from UFC 311 last year, led UFC CEO Dana White and the matchmakers to postpone Tsarukyan’s plans.

But after recent conversations between the UFC and Tsarukyan, it sounds like we could be on the verge of a major announcement regarding the lightweight’s next fight.

Arman Tsarukyan: UFC interested in BMF, LW title fights for me in 2026

In a recent interview on The Ariel Helwani Show, Tsarukyan revealed some good news he got from matchmaker Hunter Campbell regarding his fighting future.

“Couple options. Title fights, other fights, we’ll see how it plays out,” Tsarukyan said.

“170, 145, 155. The most intriguing option is fighting for the lightweight title in September or October, after Justin [Gaethje]. They told me the winner of Charles and Max. Volk? Volk is good too. They said they’re interested.

“Good meetings. I’ve always been good with Hunter, they said ‘Keep doing what you’re doing’, so that’s good.”

Depending on who wins this weekend at UFC 326, don’t be surprised if Tsarukyan enters the cage for a post-fight faceoff with the BMF victor.
