ESPN refreshed its recruiting class rankings for the 2026 cycle on Monday and IU basketball’s three-man class has entered the top 20.
The Hoosiers signed Prince-Alexander Moody and Vaughn Karvala in the fall and landed a commitment from Trevor Manhertz on January 28.
In the 2026 SCNext top 100, Karvala is No. 41, Manhertz is No. 80 and Moody is unranked, but is considered a four-star prospect.
Here’s what ESPN wrote about the class:
“Darian DeVries has his first top-25 recruiting class at Indiana. Karvala should be an immediate-impact addition because of his shooting ability, and the Hoosiers need him with the looming departures of Tucker DeVries and Lamar Wilkerson. He possesses a high ceiling and has room to add to his game alongside his 3-point threat.
“Manhertz’s commitment — and accompanying reclassification up from the 2027 class — is what pushed Indiana group into the top 25. The lefty can really shoot from beyond the arc, and will likely make his biggest impact in Bloomington a couple years down the road.
“Moody can contribute at both ends of the floor and can play either backcourt position.”
Other Big Ten classes in the top 25 of the ESPN rankings include Michigan State (No. 3), Michigan (No. 6), Purdue (No. 8), Maryland (No. 9), USC (No. 13), Oregon (No. 24) and Ohio State (No. 25).
