A viral social media post comparing the reported earnings of OnlyFans creator Sophie Rain and UFC interim lightweight champion Justin Gaethje has ignited widespread debate online.

The post — viewed by more than 5.6 million users on X — claimed that Gaethje earned $2.4 million throughout his MMA career, while Rain built a nine-figure fortune through just “three streams a month.” The comparison quickly sparked conversations about fighter pay, influencer income, and the evolving digital economy.

Rain has reportedly earned over $100 million since launching her OnlyFans account in 2023. However, she pushed back against the suggestion that her income comes from minimal effort.

“I’m not saying I don’t get paid a ridiculously absurd amount, but to say all I do is ‘3 streams monthly’ when I am legit on my phone posting, engaging, talking to people, making videos every single day without breaks since 2023 is wild,” Rain wrote.

Meanwhile, Gaethje, 36, has compiled a 25-7 professional record across 15 years and 32 fights, earning 15 performance bonuses during his UFC tenure and establishing himself as one of the sport’s most action-oriented competitors.

The viral moment also resurfaced discussions surrounding Rain and fellow Bop House member Lexi Marvel, who have both revealed that fans frequently confuse them — both online and in public.

Marvel explained that the mix-ups happen more often than many realize.

“It happens in public more than people think. Someone will walk up and say, ‘Sophie, I love you,’ and start telling a whole story about a video they watched. When I say, ‘It’s Lexi,’ they look shocked, then they laugh and ask for the photo anyway,” Marvel told The Blast.

She added:

“People will even tag me in edits and write captions like I’m Sophie, then argue with each other in the replies. I try to keep it simple and say, ‘Lexi here,’ because it’s not worth making anyone feel dumb.”

Rain says she experiences similar moments and takes them in stride.

“People mix us up in real life and in comments, and it doesn’t stop. Someone will run up and say, ‘Lexi, you killed it,’ and they are being so genuine,” Rain said. “It doesn’t bother me, because it’s not mean ever haha. Lexi is beautiful and talented, so being compared isn’t an insult.”

As the debate continues to circulate across social platforms, the comparison highlights a broader conversation about the financial disparities between traditional professional sports and the rapidly growing creator economy.
