IYO SKY Makes Major Decision As Rhea Ripley Moves To SmackDown

WWE splits one of the most loved tag teams, and surprisingly, there is no big drama behind it. On the March 2 episode of WWE RAW, Rhea Ripley shared that she and IYO SKY are pressing pause on their tag team as WrestleMania 42 gets closer.

There is no betrayal or tension involved. It just comes down to Ripley’s road to WrestleMania for the Women’s Championship.

Rhea Ripley earned her WrestleMania 42 opportunity by winning the Elimination Chamber match. Following that, Ripley made it clear that her full focus is now on her next big match against Jade Cargill.

In a backstage interview, Ripley opened up about the past few days. While earning a WrestleMania title shot was a huge achievement, she didn’t hide her disappointment over losing the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles.

On the February 27 episode of SmackDown, Ripley and SKY lost their championships to Nia Jax and Lash Legend. For SKY, it was a hard setback. For Ripley, it marked the start of a new challenge.

As the interview went on, things became more personal. Ripley spoke from the heart about what SKY means to her, not just as a partner but as a best friend. She said SKY has been everything to her over the years, from rival to ally, and even helped her through a very dark time in her life.

The two shared an emotional hug.

SKY had nothing but praise for Ripley. She applauded her Elimination Chamber win and reminded everyone why “Mami is always on top.”

Ripley then confidently responded by promising to capture the WWE Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 42, and she said she will do it for SKY.

But before WrestleMania, there is unfinished business.

Ripley announced she will be on SmackDown this Friday for a face-to-face meeting with Jade Cargill.

Even though RHIYO is supposedly over for now, WWE might find a way to involve IYO SKY in Ripley’s next challenge, whether as an ally or as a backstabber.
