Former WWE star Matt Riddle was involved in a physical altercation with a fan during a BRCW event on Sunday night, March 1, 2026. The apparent incident occurred at the VIP Ballroom in Boca Raton, Florida, during Riddle’s match against Stallion Rogers. Footage of the encounter has since surfaced on social media, showing the “Original Bro” escalating a verbal exchange into a physical shove.
The confrontation involved a fan identified as James Michael Oja Jr., who refers to himself on Instagram as a “bad-ass construction worker.” Oja has a history of issuing online challenges to professional wrestlers, including Riddle, Brock Lesnar, and CM Punk. During the match, as the action spilled outside the ring, Riddle approached the barricade where Oja was standing and shoved him in the face after a brief exchange of words.
Riddle had previously acknowledged Oja’s online provocations, writing on social media, “I’m showing up to your job site bro.” Instead, Oja appeared at the BRCW event, filming from the front row and continuing to provoke the talent and the crowd before the physical contact occurred. It should be noted that this could be an angle.
This moment follows a series of controversial moments for Riddle since his departure from WWE in September 2023. In late 2025, Riddle was involved in a physical altercation with a podcast host during an interview with TMZ Sports, though many speculated at the time that the incident was a “work” or staged for publicity. He also faced significant criticism from fans after allegations surfaced that he no-showed a charity wrestling event in the United Kingdom, leading to a profanity-laced response from the former United States Champion.
“I really don’t give a f**k anymore,” Riddle said in a video response to his critics. “Most of you motherf**kers are dumb f**king c**nts. Just like when you believed that ‘Me too’ bullsh*t, all the other f**king garbage. You guys are all f**king dumb. And it’s f**king insane. At the end of the day, the cream f**king rises to the top. And I’m really, really tired of trying to be nice to everybody, because I hate to break it to you, most of you guys are f**king morons. Peace!”
Boca Raton Championship Wrestling has not yet issued an official statement regarding the incident or whether any disciplinary action will be taken. Riddle remains active on the independent circuit and is currently scheduled for BRCW’s “Vegas Vacation” event on April 15, 2026, which is set to coincide with WrestleMania 42 week in Las Vegas.
